Vote NO on California Proposition 7
Did you know that California Proposition 7 was written and funded by two billionaires that don't even reside in California? This deeply flawed measure uses our tax dollars to subsidize Big Energy Corporations and limit regulatory checks and balances. This initiative threatens our environment and will inevitably lead to higher electricity rates. A detailed analysis by the Alliance has led us to adamantly oppose this misguided piece of legislation, and we offer our arguments against it below.

Measure on energy draws fire
The Los Angeles Times (April 8, 2008)
California’s major alternative-energy companies and environmental groups say PROP 7 is poorly drafted and riddled with loopholes.  It could slam the brakes on renewable energy development in this state.

CSDA joins coalition to oppose risky energy initiative
California Special Districts Association (June 9, 2008)
The initiative would impose significant new changes and unrealistic requirements on energy providers.  Experts are warning that PROP 7 would actually drive up prices for renewable power.
Environmentalists gearing up to fight renewable energy initiative
Capitol Weekly
  (January 24, 2008)
The way this bill is drafted reduces penalties for utilities that don’t meet standards and “you don’t make the penalty easier to meet than the standard you are supposed to meet”.  There is absolutely no good reason to make trash burners easier and faster to build - “as they emit some of the world’s most toxic pollutants to humans.”
A charged debate over Prop. 7 renewable energy plan
The Los Angeles Times  (October 2, 2008)
The opposition to this dangerous initiative grows. From higher rates to actually thwarting renewable energy implementation, Prop 7 is BAD!
Vote NO on proposition 7
San Fransisco Chronicle (October 5th, 2008)
Here is a very well written, easy to understand breakdown of this misguided initiative. Only a handful of groups support Prop 7, while opposition is enormous. No on prop 7.
